Former Pakistan Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq Signs American T20 League Deal

Former Pakistani cricket captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has signed a deal with an American entrepreneur to play in an international Twenty20 tournament in New York. Apart from Inzamam, six other Pakistani players have also been roped in for the tournament scheduled to be launched later this year. Other players include Rana Naved, Abdul Razzaq, Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat, Azhar Mahmood and Saqlain Mushtaq.

While confirming the news, the former Pakistan skipper said that the American entrepreneur named Jay Mir has planned to organise a six-team American Premier League by the month of October this year. Jay Mir is the President and CEO of American Sports And Entertainment Group Inc. According to Inzamam, the tournament will be played on a converted baseball field in Staten Island, New York.

The American entrepreneur has planned to organise a T20 tournament on the lines of cash-rich IPL. Jay Mir will rope in six international sides such as Premium Pakistan, Premium Indians, Premium West Indies, Premium World and Premium America for the American Premier League. The teams will be formulated by using a franchise and auction system similar to the IPL.
